Questions and answers
How does Canoz count calories from a photo?
Take a photo of your plate. An AI model recognizes the dishes, estimates each portion and returns calories, protein, carbs and fats, and you can adjust any portion with a tap. The values are estimates, so check them when something looks off.
Can Canoz scan barcodes and nutrition labels?
Yes. Scan the barcode of a packaged food and Canoz looks up its nutrition values in Open Food Facts, an open product database. If the product is not there, photograph its nutrition label and Canoz reads the values from it. Then choose grams, one serving or the whole pack.
Does Canoz store my meal photos?
No. Meal photos are sent for analysis and discarded; only the result (dish names, portions and nutrition values) is saved to your log. Before a photo leaves your iPhone it is re-encoded, which removes location and camera metadata.
Does Canoz work with Apple Watch and Apple Health?
Yes. Apple Watch shows your calories left, macros and streak, and with Canoz Premium you can log a recent meal again or dictate a new one from your wrist. With your permission, Canoz reads active energy and weight from Apple Health and saves the meals, water and weights you log there.
Do I need an account?
No. Canoz creates an anonymous account on first launch. You can link Sign in with Apple to restore your data on a new iPhone, and you can delete everything at any time in Settings → Delete account.
What does Canoz Premium include?
Canoz Premium unlocks daily photo, barcode and label scans, text logging, your full plan, weekly progress insights and logging from Apple Watch. There are weekly and yearly plans, and the app shows the price before you buy. Scans and text logs have fair daily limits.
Is Canoz medical advice?
No. Canoz is a wellness app, not a medical device, and its calorie and nutrition values are estimates. Talk to a doctor or dietitian before making big changes to your diet, especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition or have a history of eating disorders.
